The Long Way Back
04:37
|
|||
Why wonder ?
it's something I just done know
when it's a long way
back to my home
So there's nothing at all
so what? I'm falling without ease
like these down weathered trees
it's such a mess you can't breath
as I'm tracing my steps to your heart
once again, all I see
is what I've known go down
a hole hole without an end
Would you meet me out there ?
the sun now it will rise for us
where all the wild ones
have gone astray
now we're endangered
for being the prey
but I'll make some noise just for them to come for me, in the dust
High upon that hill you fall
and dream away, of horses running
but they're not one stay
like a forest that pours
out the strangest things
the northern lights at the tips of trees
Keep losing me
But would you meet me out there?
the skies are clear there's no clouds in the way
where all the wild ones
have gone astray
now we're endangered
for being the prey
but I'll make some noise
just for them to come for me
hell, I won't flee
So far, yet so far
lost along the trails
is the long way back for us
to get back home
but out there, way out there
I stand against, my own heart beatin'
the same tune that tired bird sings
Could you meet me out there?
where voices are yelling back for us
where all the wild ones
have gone astray
And we're endangered
for being the prey
but I'll make some noise
just to see what could be
following me

The Wait
03:26
|
|||
Go on wayward child
make your time well spent
without reason telling you
when it's time to quit
It's hard enough to say goodbye
to now what's lost
still far behind
disguised as illusions telling only lies
what's in for me this time?
guess I'll hold my high
to the skies
When the vanishing swept right under me
Saw mountains on the backs of birds who would agree
it's not easy to make the climb
where alone you've been just wondering
how this came afloat and what's the point of it
to watch flowers grow
and feel wind blow
well I left my heart at home
many years ago
I tear down mountains I've only been
and pull the streams right out of them to see it through
before me you will wait
and tired eyes will awake
before the crows begin to take
Now how many roads
have I left to go ?
see I'm tired of waiting here
for that light to show

Wild Fur Oak
04:11
|
|||
Here it comes once again
I've settled my friends
like the sun it walks beside you
whats that shadow followin'?
damn this road's too familiar
and I know I'm not going
well the strangest part of it
is where now it will all end up
like when I'm down underneath the wild fur oak
just gathering some leaves as if I was told
that I might as well crawl, and just lose some hope
cause out here are too much questions left to be chasing around
then is there more, than this train ride pulling me down ?
Suddenly I hear my own voice calling for me
through an echo from a bird I know it's hardest to believe
saying "why not try to catch up on what you've missed?"
when I know it's not a normal thing
to be guiding the wings
But when I'm down underneath the wild fur oak
just gathering some leaves just as if I was told
that I might as well crawl and just lose some hope
cause out here are too much questions left to be chasing around
then is there more
then this train ride pulling me down?
Gold dancing leaves left on their beds
are left to fool me in a breeze once left
still I go where I know I'll just float
like when I'm down underneath the wild fur oak
and just gathering some leaves as if I were told
I might as well crawl and just lose some hope
cause out here are too much questions left to be chasing around
now is there more
than this train ride pulling me down?

Fårö

Was it me
Who's waiting there by the sea
Where out for miles
A trapped forest on an island was the scene
The unwanted script had no means
Still beaten' by wind my weathered heart sings
Like a once flowing vessel
Washed a shore
My mind it cares nothing
Of wanting to do more
Do I still need you
like I ever have before?
My worries they came and grew fast like untamed hurricanes
I held tight on the mane while the steed galloped plains
Through a village I went made my time there well spent
It was you
It was always you
Through thick sifted dust
I find a trace of your love
You once damn gave to us
When your around
Please pardon me I'm
Sometimes rude and unkind
No I ain't much, but just this sound
Ya I gave back, all I've found
So rural it seemed
Like a vacant country
There suddenly, slowly I had left part of me
Wandered cold on my own
Shivered down through the bone
The smoke from the cigarette couldn't calm my own soul
It was you, that I needed
Of all things, ever kept hid

For a While
03:55
|
|||
Just slow it down
there's a map on the floor
see ima' go where it's bound
like a ship in rough seas
sure my heart gets a beating
I've been through hell not worth seeing
be gone for a while
and will go where,
some just don't dare
Let a match light me up
so I can feel the warmth when I did
know I had you
bright light turns the fog
to dust down on the shoulder line
of these damn-dead highways
I'm a cub in the wild
I run with only guesses we'll see where that leads me
be gone for a while
and will go where,
some just don't dare
would you follow me where I go?
How are you dear?
there's a storm at bay won't make it this time
It's quiet in the wild
the night grew of light
lit my distance in sight
be gone for a while and will go where
some just don't dare
cause I'm on the other side of the world tonight

Nothing Was
04:25
|
|||
Chasing light
so gone where you
just fall to pieces
like it was nothing
but only yours
an empty feeling
Still I believe
we were always on searching for
a home, so gone it seems
so I pull the rope
to see what's on the other side of it
but nothing was
no, nothing was
I watch you carry
the weight of the world
all the damage I had done
now I've wakened up
and can't learn to trust
a settler on the run
Still I believe
we were always on searching for
a home, so gone it seems
so I pull the rope
to see what's on the other side of it
but nothing was
no, nothing was
Thought I'd gave enough
oh, but I was a fool
for it all
like the dreams you light up
I'm just passing through
Still I believe
Still I believe
we were always on searching for
a home, so gone it seems
so I pull the rope
to see what's on the other side of it
but nothing was
no, nothing was

Wildflowers
04:17
|
|||
Out on this journey through these fields
wildflowers she's picking up and wielding them closer now
and such a distance she goes
out on that same day I thought I heard
your own rhythm screaming at the old fashioned bird
that only wakes when you call
I would run the fog to the end of the earth if I could
just to see what's inside of that heart that's just misunderstood
while traveling through the full bloom of June coming up soon
Over the clearing to an old country road
I'm swept through a time where in turn I will find myself lost in these early days with no please
climbing these hilltops where light once stood still
untangle these roots underneath I'm calling on out to you
yet no words fill the air
I would run through the fog to the end of the earth If I could
just to see what's inside of that heart that's just misunderstood
while traveling through the full bloom of June coming up soon
Wild seasons changing with forceful winds blowing
over fields I go
when the hardest of all is seeing you take the fall
like you know it
that you'll fall backwards to keep pushing on
I would run through the fog to the end of the earth if I could
just to see what's inside of that heart that's just misunderstood
I'm traveling through the full bloom of June and coming up soon

Alpine
04:30
|

I watch your curls fall
touch the gravel beneath
where they unfurl, they just mezmorize me
whoa you are a sight to see
like rubies from the ground
you're a hypnotized gem
in a flower garden
you fill the earth
with hearts made of stems
my my you're the greater kind
through me eyes that is hard to find
In that moment she went alone
It's getting harder to see her go
from the top
a mountain ridge , she's on the edge to drop
a floating pitch across the sky
that she once wrote for mockingbirds to guide
but like caged bird I flew oh so sloom in your hands
a tired heart, watch me crumble apart
way down below,beside a mountain's back
where shadow's go,but leave an empty track
so back I went through the forest home where
there no birds,no trees no singing grows
but no, no I keep my heart at ease
what calms my soul is deep beneath
but in that moment she went alone
its getting harder
to see, what grows
steady back home, swiftly on through the dark
although my roads are painted gold no more
I manage to find, what I've been climbing for
there she stood I wont ignore ,the melodies as though the wild sleeps
in the quite woods, nestled upon their backs
yet so damn cold and no they don't look back

When Days Grow
03:46
|
|||
If things are real
could it stand a chance
against the storm that just wants to dance
I see the light and it shimmers so bright
lighting those days you've lost in sight
When days grow
I'm on my own
like birds a soarin' mountainous heights
If things are real could it stand a chance
against your heart that just makes us laugh
the snow now it falls
and it blankets the land
on which we grew but never knew
When days grow
I'm on my own
just standing still with nowhere to go
Without any sound high up in the trees
yes a fluttering bird found it's way to me
grasping a hold in the summer so cold
flailing around to not hit the ground
When days grow
I'm on my own
saying northern prairie please bring me home
bring me home

For the River
04:29
|
|||
Can we be like others
wanting to go out
on our own?
tonight a star did fall
deep into your open arms
can we move like others
lost in the world at night?
Well it's news to me
but it's old for you
like a river flowing, flowing through
that's how, I know it's true
Why'd you spend your time
picking up this mess of mine?
I know my mind ain't still
and neither is this heart to fill
seems we're always trouble
like that fox chasing sparrows
Well it's news to me
but it's old for you
like a river flowing, flowing through
that's how, I know it's true
Can we see what others see?
in a dream of just finding how
to discover ones deep longing for
what wasn't then and isn't now
Yeah it's news to me
but it's old for you
like a river flowing, flowing through
that's how, I know it's true

Two Kinds
03:42
|
|||
Can you show me how
to not live in doubt
it's alive in me it's alive in you
like walking backwards into a crowded room
filled by Scandinavian laughter
what's your heart running to now?
are you drowning in hollow sound?
Only you
can see through these walls
breaking where you fall
is this hard?
That light in those eyes
puts empty aside
now just, forget about worries that come
cause shit don't mean much than none
I'll leave this old town
and my past at the door
Cause all them folks don't ask
how I've been
Only you
can see through these walls
breaking where you fall
Now is this hard?
Can you feel the same
of all you let go?
no, I won't hold my breath around you
cause darlin' we are going
where we are bound
and there's no going back
no not, this time around
